Tragedy has struck close to home. Yes my 4 year old son has attached a hood scoop to his La Ferrari.
Is he destined for a lifetime of stick on fender vents?
In other news, I dropped off my daughter at school in the 911 this morning. There were some fourth graders there who were helping to open car doors for people. I could hear them talking through the open sunroof after one of the little jerks slammed my door.
KID 1: That car sucks. The window rattled when I shut the door.
KID 2: Is it a hybrid?
Seriously what is wrong with our education system? This is clear proof standardized testing is broken. Teachers are clearly "teaching to the test" and only discussing topics like emissions and fuel economy, completely neglecting the finer points of sports car history.

You know the first Ferrari actually did have an engine in front and back!

When a 4th grader doesn't know what a freaking Porsche is (doesn't even have to know wether it's a Cayman or a 911), there's something clearly wrong. What's next? Aspiring to grow up to buy the latest Camry?

That's not a scoop that's obviously a V8 with blower on top of it.

As the parent of three school aged kids in Texas, I can say with some authority, "Fuck that test."

Smart kid

I assure you my daughter will be that one kid in 4th grade who knows the '72 911 was the only year it came with an external oil door and will probably memorize all of the 901 paint codes.

What the hell?
I assure you my kids will never behave that way.
Though I'll warn you they may say something like "German Reliability?! BS!" And I won't even be mad about the language.
If they ever demand for hybrid....(unless they're talking about a performance based KERS system GTFO)

Now here's interesting question. Would you rather own a stock LaFerrari or one that has been modified so that it now has FR layout with supercharged V8 without hybrid system?

That car exists already, and it is awesome!
Honestly I might rather have the F12 - more comfortable, more practical, can use more often.
EDIT - misread your post (I know the F12 has a NA V12).

I better lawyer up for the incoming lawsuit :(

That's because you're homeschooling her about this. If we don't teach this stuff, they're not getting it from elsewhere!
Unless your daughter has Porsche 101 in school. And Mustang 302. Then I'd like to know where this school is!

You should've revved those kids out. Then they would've known it's not a hybrid.

looks better now

Yeah, that would teach them a lesson! However I'm already on the hairy edge of douchebaggery so better not :(

Funny you should mention the teaching of Porsche knowledge...
At the Hill Country Rallye banquet, one of our keynote speakers had a very good point about how the median age of air-cooled owners was in the 50s and 60s. As one of the 'younger' guys there (early 40s), it was pretty depressing, but there was an overall resolve from all of us to get our kids, or grand kids in some cases, more interested in vintage cars.
(P.S. I'm finishing up the HCR story now and should be ready later this afternoon)

It's basically a FXXK, right?

maybe. I thought it looks like a futuristic muscle car now.

I'm 30's and would love to add an air cooled 911, but the prices are going up faster than my income :(

I hear ya. 912s and 914 are also not far behind in value. Great for resellers bad for people wanting to get in.
